About this airport
Faro Airport (FAO) is the gateway to the whole Algarve, only about 7 kilometres from Faro itself and roughly 15 minutes away by private car. Because most arrivals continue along the coast rather than staying in Faro, a pre-booked transfer with a driver waiting at the terminal is the smoothest way to start a holiday — bags into the car and straight to the resort, with no queue at the rank.
Transfers from here head into Faro's old town and marina, but many run west to Albufeira, Vilamoura and Lagos, or east toward Tavira and the Spanish border.
